To provide our certification services, we collect the following information:

• Original Documents: We store the original documents you upload. This is necessary to guarantee that the certified "immutable original" is always available for future verification and audit.
• Cryptographic Hashes: We generate and store SHA-256 hashes of your documents to perform Merkle tree batching and blockchain anchoring.
• Fiscal and Contact Data: For users in our Business and Enterprise tiers, we collect necessary fiscal information (Tax ID, billing address, legal representative name) to comply with commercial and tax regulations.
• Basic Account Info: We collect your email address for account management and authentication.

3. Data Residency

Your data is stored securely within the European Union. Our infrastructure is located in regional data centers (Frankfurt) to ensure compliance with GDPR and other European data protection standards.

4. Blockchain Immutability

ROOTSURE anchors document proofs to the Cardano blockchain. Please be aware that once a root hash is anchored, that specific record becomes part of a public, permanent, and immutable ledger. While this does not expose the content of your documents to the public, the digital proof itself is irreversible.
